I can’t believe that I have now been shooting weddings for 7 years. Last year was my busiest to date, I captured 37 in total. Arguably 2015 was the best year of my life so far, and a huge year in so many ways. My biggest highlight was in July with the arrival of our beautiful daughter Lyla. I was lucky enough to tick some big items off my bucket list including going to Glastonbury and Ibiza, although Ibiza with a 4 month old was not quite how I’d always imagined it would be.
I have some great friends within the wedding business and would like to thank those who have supported me throughout the year, whether it be by assisting me at one of my weddings or having me along to one of yours. All your help, advice and encouragement has been really appreciated. In March I shot a wedding with my great friend and amazing photographer Daniel Aguilar in Mexico which was such a great experience.
For all the people who liked my images on my Facebook page and share my work on their social media pages thank you, this really does help. On the 1st of January last year I decided to do ‘Project 365’ on Instagram which meant taking and posting an image everyday. I’m happy to say I did it without cheating and when it came to New Years Eve I was glad it was over but am missing it now, maybe 2017 I will re-visit the project. You can check the images out on my Instagram page.
As always the biggest thanks goes to all the couples who trusted me to capture their wedding day. The longer I do this job that I love I realise what an honour it is to capture, what is one of the most important days in anybodies life. It’s very rare that people get to gather all their family and friends in one place. It’s the relationships, emotion and events of the day that I so enjoy capturing to be enjoyed now and for future generations.
It wasn’t easy to make the selection of images from 2015 for this blog post. However, below is a selection of some of my personal favourite moments from what has been a great year.
