Hi. My name is Ben and I’m a documentary wedding photographer.
Although I live in the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury, Kent, I am privileged to work with brides and grooms from Kent, London and throughout the UK. I also photograph destination weddings all over the world. I have a unique opportunity to regularly teach workshops and mentor other wedding photographers through The Trained Eye.
I understand that choosing the right documentary wedding photographer is a big decision. How do you pick the right person?
To me, wedding photography is about capturing the beauty and story of your wedding day as the moments – big and small – unfold in front of me. There is something about weddings… our defences are stripped away and we can be our true selves under the loving gaze of our friends and family. Emotions are heightened – joy, nerves and love all take centre stage – and I am profoundly aware of the honour and trust of being allowed to watch and document one of the most special days of your life.
Above all, I aim to provide incredible documentary wedding photography that’s hassle free. From our initial consultation (in person, over the phone or via Skype – whichever is easiest for you) to an engagement shoot or your wedding day itself, I’m truly passionate about the art of wedding photography. I will arrive as early as you need, and stay as late as you want. I love what I do and will always give whatever it takes to tell your wedding story – a celebration of two people in love, shared with friends and family.
As I’m a documentary wedding photographer, it’s probably no surprise that my favourite way to communicate is through photography. I could tell you about how my interest in photography began as a teenager and became my profession in 2008; how I’ve travelled the world with a camera in my hand. I could tell you that the biggest compliment I get from my clients is, “We didn’t even know you were there, but you didn’t miss a thing,” but… honestly, I thought it would be better to share my Instagram feed with you, so you can see the world through my eyes.
